Overseas License Conversion

Express Driving Program
If you have held your Learner Permit for the minimum specified period listed above (depending on your age) and require a license urgently, we can assist you by assessing your learning style and applying accelerated learning principles. Our principal instructor holds tertiary qualification in Adult Learning and can give you the best advise.
Refresher Driving Program
Perhaps you have not driven for some years, you have lived overseas, you have lived near work, or you simply have not driven. Whatever the reason we can assist you to regain your driving skills and knowledge in just a short period.
Before you know it, it will seem like that you had never stopped driving in the first instance.
The focus is on real life situations, so it might be the freeway that you may need to travel on, or perhaps driving to the city and making hook turns or running your children to school or sport. Rehearsing will be in a safe environment in a car fitted with dual controls under the supervision of a professional instructor
Occupational Driver Assessment
VicRoads is responsible for ensuring that all drivers have appropriate driving skills and may ask you to undertake an occupational therapy driver assessment to demonstrate that you can drive safely. Even if you are an experienced driver, you may be asked to do this assessment because of concerns that your driving skills may be have been affected
by your medical condition, or they may no longer be the same as when you first gained your license. An occupational therapy driver assessment is intended to ensure that you can drive safely. Anyone involved in your welfare may arrange for the assessment.
An assessment may be necessary because:
1. Your physical or mental skills may have slowed since you first obtained your license.
2. A physical injury, head injury, illness, disability, stroke or psychiatric disorder may have affected your ability to drive safely.
3. You have a medical condition and would like to know if you are able to obtain a driver license.
Senior Driving Program
It is every driver’s worst nightmare to have to surrender their license, often held for a life time. Unfortunately every driver has to surrender it one day but we can assist you to keep it for longer by alerting you to areas requiring improvement and would impose on your safety and that of other road users.
If you are concerned about an elderly friend or family member 1st Time Drive School can undertake a confidential assessment with feedback on their suitability to continue to drive or areas requiring improvement.
